Marching Band
CADENCE written by senior or seniors, depending on the group.
For the Memorial Day Parade, the marching piece will be patriotic . For the All-State Parade, we will alternate between that piece and some pep band tunes. Students on the right side are in charge of their row, so normally it will be seniors and juniors in those spots. Always start with LEFT FOOT. Take SMALL STEPS, so the audience can actually hear a good part of the music. Corners - inside person takes very small steps, outside person takes large steps everyone in each row looks to the inside, to stay in line each row stops as the row in front of them takes the corner after the corner, move very slowly 1st whistle just to get everyone's attention. (the following whistles assume that the cadence is in 4/4. Adjust the rhythms to the appropriate time signature) Four 1/4 notes to start or stop cadence. Half note, Quarter note, quarter rest - move OR stop moving Whole notes + funky whistle - soundoff |
