Music Festivals
The Northeast Music Festival and the All-State Music Festival are both excellent opportunities for students to learn more about rehearsals, performances, and all-around musicianship. They meet students from other schools and get to experience different directors.
The Northeast Music Festival (website) (facebook page) includes students from northeastern Vermont and requires an audition on November 17, 2018, at NCUHS in front of a judge. Here are the requirements:
The All-State Music Festival (website) includes students from throughout Vermont, and is even more competitive than the Northeast Festival. Students will audition in front of two judges in White River Junction on the morning of January 12, 2019. Here are the requirements:
The All-New England Music Festival (website) is a one-day instrumental music festival that takes place at Plymouth State University. We head to Plymouth, NH first thing in the morning on Monday, November 19. There are rehearsals during the day and a performance that evening.

- Two major scales, which the audition judge will choose (up to four flats/sharps)
- Chromatic scale
- Prepared solo
- Sight-reading
