We have many of the best musicians in Vermont in our band. Playing in music festivals is a great way to learn from other students & conductors, sometimes to go new places, and to experience some incredible music. Check out the details here.

BEEF JERKYPre-sell orders due this Friday. Selling for $3.00 pkg. Great price! WIND SYMPHONY!Concert on Monday, November 30.
Rehearsals will be at NCU Junior High School Mondays, from 7:00 to 8:45 PM. Pep Band was good last week! What do you think we can do to make it even better? Post your answer in the "comments" below.
DISNEYNeed the money ASAP! Be thinking about rooming in groups of four. With whom will you stay? NAMES of students over eighteen must match up with their ID's or the airline will not allow you on their plane!! We need a list. Let me know. Will you be riding the bus to Manchester? If not, I need to know that too. If everyone rides the bus, then we need three buses but I don't want an empty bus! Meeting on Tuesday - all students and chaperones! 7:00
LESSONSStudents are required to have a minimum of two lessons each quarter. These can happen before or after school, or during 3rd block. A few students might have a study hall that coincides with my planning time (2A or 4B), so that could also work. More than two lessons is extra credit! Students should sign up on the clipboard in the band room, or zip me an email after looking at the schedule. Contact & Instrument InformationOnly a few students have filled out this quick & easy survey regarding phone numbers, emails, instruments, and serial numbers so far. Please do so!
The Green Room project
A great opportunity for students again this year is called the Green Room. Five students will eat lunch and converse with Vermont Symphony Orchestra members and a composer, and will be able to attend the VSO concert at the Haskell Opera House for free. They will each receive a packet of background information and a CD also. The event will take place on Sunday, September 27. I will meet students at 1:30 at the East Side Restaurant and then then we will go to Derby Line for the concert. All that is required of students is a paragraph stating why they'd like to do this and a brief review of the experience afterwards. The review will also count for an extra credit point for band.
I would like the paragraph by Thursday, Sep.10, so I can decide which five students can take part in this opportunity. NCUHS Musical!
I'm still looking for a clarinetist to play in the pit orchestra for the 25 Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. It's not easy music, but it'll be worth it! It will involve some after-school rehearsals until the week of the musical, when it will then be every day (not sure of the time yet). It looks like we already have percussionists, a flutist, and a saxophonist who are committed. The musical itself is November 5,6,7.
