- The band sometimes spreads out a bit too far. BUT they will sit closer together if I am very clear - "you sit here!"
- Rules for pep band need to be written out at the beginning of the year, so everyone knows what is required.
- Watch out for cheerleaders - we played songs at halftime every week until they showed up. Communication is probably the key.
- We should get more songs. Apparently we play a lot more now than they used to, and we end up playing a lot of songs several times. Maybe we need to work on the pieces that we skip. More books might work, too.
- Pep band is a lot easier during WINNING games. It's harder to choose the music when we're losing, and finding the right times to play is tricky, also.
- When I asked for volunteers for the playoff game, a ton of kids signed up. Hopefully that'll work for basketball and hockey, too.
Pep Band is so much fun! We get to play little bits of music and watch football. Students seem to enjoy it, and if we aren't getting every note, it's okay. I've made some observations:
